Our Services

Counselling

Sometimes life feels overwhelming, and it helps to have a safe space to talk. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, anger, or the weight of everyday stress, counselling can help you find your way through.

At Central Counselling Services, we take a compassionate, solution-focused approach, working with your whole self, mind, body, and spirit, to support healing and meaningful change. No referral needed, no judgement, just a genuine commitment to helping you move forward.

We're here when you're ready.

Funerals, Memorials & Celebration of Life Services

Losing someone is one of life's most profound experiences. As a former Civil Celebrant with extensive experience crafting meaningful ceremonies, Michael brings deep compassion and sensitivity to every service.

Drawing on his background in grief and loss counselling, he works closely with families to create personalised, dignified farewells that truly honour the life lived, giving loved ones the space to grieve, remember, and celebrate.

Executive Coaching

Success at the top comes with its own pressures. Whether you're leading a team, navigating a career transition, or simply seeking greater clarity and purpose, executive coaching can help you perform at your best, without losing sight of who you are.

At Central Counselling Services, our coaching draws on a solution-focused, whole-person approach. We work with leaders, managers, and high-achievers to build self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and unlock the clarity needed to move forward with confidence.

Because great leadership starts from within.

Mentoring

Sometimes what you need isn't just guidance; it's someone who's been there, who listens without judgment, and who helps you see what's possible.

At Central Counselling Services, our mentoring draws on real-world experience and a genuine commitment to your growth. Whether you're a student finding your feet, a professional navigating change, or someone simply looking for a trusted sounding board, we'll walk alongside you, helping you build confidence, clarity, and the skills to move forward on your own terms.

Your journey, your pace, your potential.

End of Life Planning Support

Talking about death isn't easy, but doing so with care and intention can be one of the most meaningful gifts you give to yourself and those you love.

Our End of Life Planning consultations offer a compassionate space for individuals and families to prepare not just practically but also emotionally. Drawing on deep experience in grief, loss, and funeral celebrancy, we help you have the conversations that matter: your wishes, your values, your story, and how you'd like to be remembered.

Planning ahead eases the burden on those left behind and brings a quiet sense of peace that comes from knowing everything is in order, your way.

A gentle conversation today can bring great comfort tomorrow.

FAQ

Taking that first step towards counselling can bring up a lot of questions, and that's completely okay. We want you to feel informed and at ease before you even walk through the door.

Below you'll find answers to some of the things people ask us most. If you don't find what you're looking for, please don't hesitate to reach out; we're always happy to have a chat.

No, you do not need a referral to see a Counsellor at Central Counselling Services.

Medicare rebates are currently only available for sessions with a psychologist, which require a GP referral and a mental health plan. While we aren't covered by Medicare, our fees are often less than the out-of-pocket gap you'd pay even after a Medicare rebate, so you can still access quality, professional counselling without the wait or the extra steps.

No referral needed. Just get in touch and we'll take it from there.

We aren't currently set up to process private health insurance rebates directly. However, depending on your level of cover, you may still be able to claim. Simply pay your invoice and submit it to your health fund yourself. We recommend checking with your provider to see what you're entitled to.

Yes. We believe cost shouldn't be a barrier to getting support. We offer discounted rates for those who hold a Government issued Healthcare card. Just let us know when you get in touch, and we'll make sure you're on the right rate. Please remember to bring your card to your first appointment.

Payment on completion of your session is required unless other arrangements have been made with us before your appointment. Payment may be made by EFTPOS, Credit Card or by cash.

Prepayment is required to secure a Telehealth appointment. You will receive a receipt by email once your payment is processed.

We never want cost to stand in the way of someone getting the help they need. We're not in the business of counselling, we're in service, and you always come first.

If fees are a concern, just talk to us. We'll work out a payment plan that suits your situation, with no hidden fees and complete transparency from the start. That way, we can focus on what really matters, getting you back on track.

Yes, after-hours appointments are available. However, if a requested time is unavailable, we encourage you to contact us from 10 am - 6 pm to request an after-hours appointment.

Please note that whilst we endeavour to be available as often as possible, after-hours face-to-face appointments are limited and may only be available via telehealth.

Absolutely. What you share with us stays with us. We operate under a strict code of ethics and take your privacy seriously; everything discussed in your sessions is completely confidential.

There are a small number of situations where we may be required to share information, including:

  • A court-mandated subpoena requiring us to release client information

  • To protect your physical safety

  • To protect the safety of another person, or

  • To protect the safety of a child

Outside of these circumstances, your confidentiality is fully protected.

Yes, we'll come to you. Whether you'd feel most comfortable at home; or any other safe space of your choosing, we're happy to arrange a visit at a location that works for you.

We are registered with the Home Visit network and are an NDIS and Aged Care provider, so we're experienced in bringing professional support directly to the people who need it most.

Please note that travel to and from your location will incur additional charges.

Most counselling sessions are 50 minutes unless a prior arrangement has been made.

It's completely normal to feel a little nervous; most people do. We'll start with some easy conversation to help you settle in, then gently explore what's brought you here and what you'd like to get out of counselling.

There's no pressure to have it all figured out. We're here to help you find the words, at your own pace.
